The Associate Broker Course

You have your Maine Sales Agent license. What's next? Start your Associate Broker Course NOW!

Did you know??  It is NOT necessary to wait to get started with this course.

You must complete and pass the course and all field requirements BEFORE your Sales Agent license expires.  Ideally, once you have been involved with a couple of transactions you are ready to enroll.   Many students complete this course during their second year of being licensed as a Sales Agent.

The course must be complete 100% within 1 year from the scheduled end date of the course in which you enroll.  If you need an extension, please contact Ed Getty at ed@trelg.com.  Extensions will only be granted under special circumstances with the commission's approval!

We know that you are busy and find it difficult to attend class meetings at inconvenient times and in faraway places. We are pleased to offer our Associate Broker Course in a "blended" format where you complete online self-study at your own pace, and attend workshops in the classroom. You may start your online study today and attend the workshops as scheduled in each class offering.

Travel less, learn more!

The Associate Broker Course quickly reviews what you learned in the Sales Agent Course then does a "deep dive" into topics of interest to real estate licensees practicing here in Maine. There is no textbook, and there are no "state" or "national" exams after you complete the course.

  • Complete 34 hours of online self-study -- videos, audio clips, animations, knowledge checks, case studies, scored quizzes -- at your own pace. You need high speed internet access and a computer or tablet. Your instructor is only an email away and responds to your questions within one day.
  • Attend workshops. Take the scheduled workshops after the prerequisite online content for each workshop including case studies and exercises that you will bring to each workshop.
  • Take a 2-hour Final Exam proctored by your instructor at the end of your last workshop.

To be eligible to apply for your Associate Broker license you must achieve a grade of 75% or above in this course and complete 40 hours of Documented Field Experience under the supervision of your designated broker (or his or her designee).

Student Reviews:

"Good evening! I just finished the Associate Broker Course with Walter Boomsma. I just want to take a minute to say how impressed I was with your instructor's overall performance. Walter goes above and beyond to make sure everyone succeeds. I'll keep this short and sweet. I just feel this man deserves recognition. Thank you, from a very satisfied student!"

"I really like your teaching style! I learned so much and you kept us active and focused for the entire day. This says a lot coming from a full-time third grade teacher who sat through dull professional development workshop lectures ALL Day Thursday; then a one hour (very motivating) keynote from the state education commissioner on Friday morning, followed by a full day of professional development sessions.  I wondered how I'd keep up the learning stamina for Saturday....and you made it great. I can see how valuable a live class is, as opposed to the home-study version I did with another provider for my sales agent course.I'm looking forward to our next few classes! Thank you to Jean-Marie Caterina!"

"As you’ve heard a number of times, your courses are always informative and educational. It is always refreshing to me to gain from the knowledge and experience of my peers but it continues to amaze me how instructors like yourself bring real world scenarios to the class room.  Your statement to the class that TRELG isn’t in the business to fail students but to educate them gives an amazing boost of confidence to those of us who are still learning and questioning our competence in the field. The industry is very lucky to have you and your counterparts as part of the professional platform!  Great job again!"

PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS MANDATORY WORK TO BE DONE ONLINE PRIOR TO EACH WORKSHOP!!

Therefore, it is necessary to register at least one week before the first workshop date.

Please contact Christy if you have any additional questions.  christy@trelg.com
