The Designated Broker Course is a 50-hour program approved by the Maine Real Estate Commission as meeting the criteria for getting a Maine Broker real estate license, and to serve as a Designated Broker. It is also approved for 18 clock hours of CE for Broker and Designated Broker license renewals. The course covers business planning, creating a company policy manual, risk management, ethical issues, how to set up an effective training program, and more. In unique TRELG fashion, it is offered in a "blended" format where you complete online self-study at your own pace and attend workshops in the classroom or via Livestream. Less than 20 hours of seat time, including your Final Exam! You begin your online work as soon as you register for the class and attend the workshops as scheduled in each class offering (see below).
- There is no textbook, and there are no "state" or "national" exams after you complete the course.
- Complete your required online self-study -- videos, audio clips, animations, knowledge checks, case studies, scored quizzes -- at your own pace, in accordance with the student workbook we provide to you.
- Attend the live or livestream workshops as scheduled.
- Take a 2-hour Final Exam proctored by your instructor in-person at the end of your last workshop, or as scheduled.
