There are four possible relationships you may have with a buyer:
1. Transaction broker
2. Seller agent with a buyer customer
3. Buyer agent
4. Disclosed dual agent

This course will explore each relationship identifying:
* when the relationship begins,
* your responsibilities to buyers, and
* how your responsibilities differ based on your relationship.

Common issues and misunderstandings will be addressed to assist you in understanding your role and managing buyer expectations.

Designated brokers, as you go through this course think about your affiliated licensees' understanding of course material. Do they understand how their responsibilities to buyers differ depending on their relationship? What about your company policy? Does your policy reflect how business is being conducted at your company?

The course will identify when each relationship begins, the agent's responsibilities to buyers, and how those responsibilities differ based on the relationship. The course will also address common issues and misunderstandings related to working with buyers, and will provide guidance on how to understand and manage buyer expectations. Designated brokers are encouraged to consider how their affiliated licensees understand the material covered in this course, as well as their company's policies related to working with buyers.
